Independent oversight you can trust

Regulation 44 reports that stay independent

A Regulation 44 report only has value if it is the independent person’s own view. In most systems anyone with access can edit it. Here, nobody at the home can.

  1. 1Appoint. The provider appoints the independent person to a home. They get a limited login for that home only.
  2. 2Declare. They confirm their independence against regulation 43 before they start.
  3. 3Visit and write. They use a summary-level records pack, speak to children and staff, and write their opinion on safeguarding and well-being.
  4. 4Seal. On submission the report is hashed and signed. Any later change would show at once.
  5. 5Respond and send. The home adds dated responses and actions, and records when it went to Ofsted and placing authorities.

Children’s records deserve better than a shared drive

Records about looked-after children are among the most sensitive personal data there is. The app is built so only the right people can see them, and so they stay protected for the decades they must be kept.

Post-quantum encryption

Sensitive fields encrypted per organisation with a hybrid ML-KEM scheme; connections use hybrid post-quantum TLS.

Strong sign-in

Passkeys or an authenticator app for every account. Sessions end on the server when you sign out.

Right people only

Each organisation isolated in the database. Staff see only their homes; the independent person sees only their reports.

How much does the Residential Childcare App cost?

£129 a month for the core platform after a 14-day free trial. You do not need a card to start. An optional independent Regulation 44 visit service is £500 a month.

Is it built for children's homes in England?

Yes. It is built around the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the nine Quality Standards, and around how Ofsted inspects under the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF). Supported accommodation services can switch to the supported accommodation rules.

Where is our data stored and how is it protected?

In the UK, in Amazon Web Services' London region. Sensitive fields are encrypted with keys unique to your organisation, using a hybrid scheme that includes the post-quantum ML-KEM algorithm. Every account uses multi-factor authentication or a passkey, every organisation's data is isolated at database level, and changes are kept in a tamper-evident audit trail. Orvanta Group Ltd is registered with the ICO (ZB972103).

Can our Regulation 44 independent person use it?

Yes, at no extra cost. They get their own limited login for the homes they are appointed to, write the monthly report, and seal it so nobody at the home can change it. Their access ends when their appointment ends.

How long does it take to set up?

A guided setup asks about your organisation, each home, your team and your Regulation 44 person one question at a time, then creates the homes, invites the team, assigns training and drafts your Statement of Purpose for you to check.
